Having enjoyed shooting engagement photos for David and Claudia, I congratulated them on their future marriage and send them on the way back to Hong Kong.
Then the invitation arrived.
Back to Hong Kong!
Of course I am over the moon (and very grateful) to be flown 9,000km to the Oriental Pearl again for another wedding after Sam and Joanna’s a couple of years back; but I also recognise that I need to bring to the table the natural photojouralism that David and Claudia so depended on me for.
My worries went away as soon as David turned up at the traditional door games with his – rather clueless but enthusaistic – high school friends from Cranbrook. Combined with the wittiness of David himself, hilarity ensued for the rest of the morning.
Many, many thanks
The anglican church service that followed switched the laughter with sincere gratitude, recounting the many blessings David and Claudia received from family and friends. With many tears of thankfulness, there’s no shortage of emotions to remember.
The fantastic day concluded at the reception with close relatives, where they each passionately shared their personal best wishes with the newlyweds.
From a journalism perspective there’s wasn’t a single moment without a colourful story to illustrate. It was the dream of every photojournalist – and I am more than pleased to have been there doing for David and Claudia what I do best always.
